KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA 2011

SEAsian Tour 2011 (Part 1)

July 18, 2011 (Monday)- Clark, Phil  to KL, Malaysia

My first south east Asian tour has just started all the way from Diosdado Macapagl International Airport located in Clark Field, Pampanga (almost 2 hours away from Manila by bus) to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia via AirAsia. The flight started at exactly 11:45 am and we landed in KL at around 3:30 pm (almost 4 hours). This trip consisted of 9 backpackers and I'm the only guy in the group. 


Note:(expenses in the Phil)
Van – to and from Clark, Pampanga P350
Tax travel- P600 ($14.28)
Terminal Fee- P1650 ($39.28)
We came by Marrybrown for our late lunch (one of the well-known fastfoods in Malaysia) before we headed for Alpha Genesis Hotel.
Marybrown meal- RM11 ($3.45)
After wandering in the airport we headed for our accommodation located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur.  We took a taxi (van) (P330 x 9pax) ($7.85)

Accommodation:
Alpha Genesis Hotel for 2 days and 1 night

Taxi to Petronas Tower from the hotel – RM3 ($0.94)

Milkshake factory (strawberry flavour) RM10 ($3.14)


Tourist Site:

1. KLCC (Petronas Tower)- free attraction especially at night


 2. KLCC Shopping Centre (inside Petronas Tower)- free attraction
 

July 19, 2011 (Tuesday)- KL, Malaysia
- Since we only had 2 days in KL, we planned not to make our itinerary hectic. So, we decided to visit Titingwangsa Lake (where one of the scenes of John Loyd's movie in Malaysia was taken). Then after an hour, we went to the shopping hob in KL including BB Plaza. In fact, Taxi fare varies: taxi  to lake – RM5 x 4pax, and taxi to hotel- RM4 x 4 pax.


Tourist Site:
1. Titingwasa Lake- free attraction

 2. Palace of Culture- free attraction

Market or Shopping Centre:
1. Plaza Low Yat- IT Mall


2. Times Square 

Souvenirs
1. 6pcs of key chain – RM8 x 2 = RM16 ($5.02)

2. Magnetic- RM8 x 2 = 16 ($5.02)

3. Petronas Twin Tower Metallic Display
at BB Plaza
The original price was RM45 but I got mine for only RM30 ($9.41)
TIP: Chinese merchants are good choice when you’re dealing with your bargains. You can ask for a reasonable price of souvenirs you are looking for.
