TIANANMEN SQUARE, BEIJING

It is considered as the biggest public square in the world. This site is located at the heart of the city, where known landmarks are built including Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall, Tiananmen Tower, Monument of the People's Heroes, & Great Hall of the People. Most tourists both local and foreign flock together to visit these must-see attractions in Beijing. People usually take photos in front of Mao Zedong's portrait on Tiananmen's Tower.

Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall
This site serves as the Mausoleum of Chairman Mao Zedong, nestled at the south of Tiananmen Square. One of the three halls keeps his body using a crystal coffin.

Tiananmen Tower
It is built at the north of the square, and functions as the entry way to the Forbidden City. This historical site used to be the place for huge ceremonies and declaration of the new emperor or empress during the time of various dynasties in China. 

People's Heroes Monument
This monument is created right in the middle of the square in 1952, towering to several meters high. The structure symbolizes the immortality of people's heroes of the country.
Its location can be found several feet away from Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall.

Great Hall of the People
The hall is situated at the west side of Tiananmen Square. It is where the country's congress and other diplomatic meetings are held.The hall is even bigger than Forbidden City and considered as the world's largest hall.
