JO's CHICKEN INATO

Jo’s Chicken Inato Milagrina
The entrance of the restaurant
Primarily, travelers generally search for food known among the locals. When I asked my friend what food can Tacloban have and she could not specifically mention which one is authentic in the place. Most often than not, it’s fusion of flavors from different provinces nearby.
Until they brought us to a famous restaurant, Jo’s Chicken Inato Milagrino. It’s popular for serving inasal (grilled) and other delicacies with a twist.

What I like about this place, besides the food, is the interior. It’s homy and spacious. The restaurant has enough space for a big crowd. Even though, it’s not air-conditioned, but the most essential reason you’re there is because of the food they serve. Yeah, it is the food that matters here. Amazingly, we were served with, I thought they were similar food we always had in Manila, but I was wrong.
Crispy kangkong
To start off, we had kangkong, a kind of leafy vegetables frequently used in soup. I was really astonished how they made it extra crispier to think it is soft. It was even yummier when you dip into a sauce made of ketchup and mayo.
Crispy dinuguan
Then there was dinuguan. It is often prepared with some pig’s internal organs and its blood, but the odd about it is the crispy part. I’m not a fan, but this one was sooo good!. Frankly speaking, chicken inasal or pork bbq here in Jo’s were tastier than the ones in Mang Inasal. It was cooked well and never had this black thing when it’s over-cooked. Besides, you don’t need special sauce or oil to make the taste more promising. Make your meal satisfying with a pitcher of icy calamansi juice. Summer has never been this so blissful without the people who share the same passion to food.
